USDC exists on several networks, and the ticker alone does not establish the asset you can send. This page starts with USDC on Ethereum. USDC on Base, Arbitrum, Solana or another supported chain needs a different source selection in the exchange form.
The destination is native Bitcoin. That is different from receiving a Bitcoin-linked token on Ethereum. The route briefing deliberately states both deployments because a page about “USDC to BTC” should help you make the actual exchange, not just display two familiar logos around a rate.
01/Find the network before choosing the amount
Open the wallet or account holding your USDC and identify its network. Then match that source in the exchange form. On some networks there are native and bridged variants with similar names; if the provider lists separate deployments, select the one that matches the balance you actually control.
02/USDC on Ethereum needs an Ethereum send
For a self-custody wallet, an outgoing ERC-20 USDC transfer normally uses ETH for gas. The amount of USDC being exchanged and the ETH fee are different balances. Check that the source wallet can cover the send rather than assuming its dollar-denominated token balance pays every required network fee.
03/Native BTC belongs in a Bitcoin receive flow
Use a Bitcoin receiving address from the destination wallet or account. If the receiving service lists WBTC or another tokenized representation, that is a different output. The final provider quote should name the same asset and network that the destination service accepts.
