THE SHORT ANSWER

What does the USDT peg chart measure?

This page shows the USDT/USD spot market on Kraken, delivered by TradingView. The price is US dollars per USDT. Its distance from $1 describes the premium or discount on that market at the inspected time.

GOOD DATA NEEDS CONTEXT

Read it.
Don’t mythologize it.

Pay attention to both precision and scale. A quote of $0.9995 is half a tenth of a cent below a dollar, corresponding to -0.05% or -5 basis points. A tightly cropped vertical axis can make that small difference look much larger than it is in dollar terms.

A chart of USDT against another stablecoin answers a different question from USDT/USD. Here the quoted unit is USD. Keep the source venue and the exact observation time attached to any statement about a premium, discount or temporary price move.

AN EXAMPLE. NOT A LIVE READING.

If USDT trades at a manually entered $0.9980, its difference from $1 is -0.20%, or -20 basis points. That is an arithmetic example, not a current quote or an automatic alert threshold.

WHAT THIS CHART CANNOT TELL YOU

The Kraken spot price is not Tether’s reserve report, a redemption offer, a global aggregate price or proof that every USDT network has the same exchange conditions. Native transfer costs on Ethereum, Tron and other chains remain separate from this price.

GOOD TO KNOW

Less guessing.
Better questions.

Can this show the USDT price on Tron specifically?

No. This is a centralized spot market, not an on-chain Tron pool. To compare chain-specific pool prices you need identified pools and their own time-aligned observations.

Is every trade below one dollar a confirmed global depeg?

A single-venue discount is an observation about that venue. A broader conclusion requires a defined threshold, persistence window and wider market coverage. This page does not generate a global depeg alarm.

How fresh are the values, and can I export them?

TradingView supplies the feed and its observation timestamps. The crypto chart updates automatically while connected; check the widget’s status before treating a value as current. The page does not maintain a separate copy of live quotes or offer a market-data CSV export. If the source cannot load, use the direct source link.
